Ultrasound/Echocardiogram

We are pleased to offer advanced diagnostic imaging for our patients when it is needed. Please note that these services are available for non-emergency cases only and are scheduled in advance rather than performed the same day. Pets requiring emergency imaging or immediate care will be referred to a specialty center to ensure prompt treatment.

Abdominal Ultrasound

Abdominal ultrasound is a non-invasive diagnostic imaging tool that allows us to evaluate your pet’s internal organs in real time, including the liver, spleen, kidneys, bladder, gastrointestinal tract, and adrenal glands. This advanced imaging is performed right here in our clinic by a traveling board-certified veterinary radiologist, ensuring a high level of expertise and accuracy.

Ultrasound can help diagnose causes of vomiting, diarrhea, weight loss, abdominal pain, abnormal lab results, or unexplained illness, and can also be used to guide fine-needle aspirates or biopsies when needed. Most pets tolerate the procedure very well, and results are typically available quickly to help us develop an appropriate treatment plan.

Echocardiogram

An echocardiogram is a specialized, non-invasive ultrasound of the heart that allows us to evaluate its structure, function, and blood flow in real time. This advanced diagnostic test is performed in our clinic by a traveling board-certified veterinary cardiologist, providing expert assessment without the need for referral to a specialty hospital.

An echocardiogram is often recommended to investigate heart murmurs, abnormal heart rhythms, congestive heart failure, or changes seen on chest X-rays or lab work, and to monitor known heart disease over time. Most pets tolerate the procedure very well, and the results help us create an accurate diagnosis and tailored treatment plan for your pet’s cardiac health.
